It is easy to imagine a dark future in which the European welfare state is becoming unpayable, social cohesion is falling apart and climate change is becoming irreversible. But we are still in a position to prevent potential misery from happening. What can we do to create a better future for humankind? That is the big question that Jan Peter Balkenende and Boudewijn Wijnands will explore in this ELP Leadership Dialogue. Jan Peter Balkenende is amongst others a Professor at Erasmus University, a senior advisor to EY and a former prime minister. Boudewijn Wijnands is the founder of Deedmob, a start-up that is taking volunteering into the digital age. He is also a member of DenkWerk, a think tank that wants to contribute to prosperity, inclusion and progress in the Netherlands. After their plenary introduction participants will engage into Roundtable Dialogues to discuss their own ideas about a better future.
