DEI Won't Die

European organizations are still trying to increase the diversity of their workforce, but in the US there is a DEI backlash: the American Supreme Court has ended 45 years of affirmative action in university admissions in June 2023 and DEI efforts are considered 'woke' by some. Diversity, equity, and inclusion refers to organizational frameworks which seek to promote the fair treatment and full participation of all people, particularly groups who have historically been underrepresented or subject to discrimination on the basis of identity or disability. In this online ELP Leadership Dialogue Maarten van Beek, CHRO of ING Retail, will explain how he is working on DEI and what he thinks the impact will be of changing sentiments in the US. After his introduction participants will engage into moderated breakouts about DEI in their own context.
