The Ten Commandments of Dialogue: #8

April 23, 2018 by

The eighth commandment is that participants are equal. At ELP you find yourself among equals. Participants are equal, but not identical. Everybody brings value to the table in their own way. It sometimes can be a challenge to see the value added by another person when their beliefs are different from yours. People who don’t see it, should try harder and see this as a signal to fine-tune their perception and be aware of their judgments.
The equality of the participants is symbolized by the round tables. There is no head at a round table, each position is the same. It is about who you are, not about your position in the hierarchy.
